Kirill Alekseevich Budanov – Ukrainian spyChief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General.
Place of Birth. Education. Was born January 4, 1986 v cueve. In 2007 he graduated from the Odessa Institute of the Ground Forces.
Career. After graduation, he served in the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, where he held various positions.
Since the spring of 2014, he took part in the hostilities in the Donbass. Has several wounds, one of which is severe.
On August 6-8, 2016, he conducted a special operation in the city of Armyansk in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
From 2018 to 2024, he was in a special job.
In 2024, he became Deputy Director of the Department of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
On August 5, 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Kirill Budanov head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In this post, Budanov replaced Vasily Burba.
On August 24, 2024, he was awarded the military rank of brigadier general.
Assassination attempt. On April 4, 2019, an attempt was made on the life of Kirill Budanov in Kiev. Then a Chevrolet Evanda car was blown up on Academician Williams Street, under which a mine was placed, but it detonated prematurely. The Russian saboteur and the group that was supposed to blow up the Ukrainian intelligence officer were detained.
Scandals. In December 2024, Bihus.Info and Sledstvo.Info reported that Kirill Budanov lives with Alexander Gogilashvili in a house where is owned by Diana Strelkovskaya, the wife of Vyacheslav Strelkovskiy, whom “the media call the organizer of convert centers.”
