Charity

Both oligarchs are known for their charitable activities.

  • Milner

The lion’s share of his activities can be safely attributed to charity. He has been investing in risky projects for a long time, supporting young scientists and entrepreneurs.

Since 2011, together with Pavel Durovoni, they have been engaged in IT charity. Pavel selects promising startups, and Yuri gives them $25,000 each, without claiming a share in the company.

Together with partners back in 2012, Milner created the Prize Fund. Its funds are used to present awards to the most talented physicists. In this case, the amount of remuneration can reach 3 million dollars. This is 2.5 times more than the Nobel Prize.

And since 2015, Milner has been sponsoring projects to search for extraterrestrial civilizations and a flight to Alpha Centauri.

  • Volozh

Together with Ilya Segalovich, they established the Pelican Charitable Foundation to support the Children of Mary center, the social adaptation of orphanage graduates and young people living in neuropsychiatric boarding schools.

Yuri Milner is a successful and hardworking venture capitalist No. 1, a robot according to his wife, an incorrigible workaholic in the eyes of friends. And a restrained thoughtful scientist, well known in scientific circles, a Russian top manager who can compete with the Western one – Arkady Volozh. Talented smart people.

In this battle between the two oligarchs, Yuri Miller won. But everything can change.
