Place of Birth. Education. Sebastian Kurz was born on August 27, 1986 in Vienna, his mother is a teacher and his father is an engineer. In April 2011, Kurz was appointed to the newly created position of Secretary of State for Integration (part of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior). In the 2013 Austrian general election, he was elected as a Member of Parliament.

On 16 December 2013, he became Austrian Foreign Minister in the second cabinet of Werner Faymann, whose portfolio was expanded at his request to include social integration functions. At the time of his oath, Sebastian Kurz was the youngest minister of the Austrian government since the founding of the republic, the youngest foreign minister in the European Union and around the world.
