Anthony has brothers Calvin and Willy Jr. and sisters Linda and Marian, with whom he is very friendly. All of them found their way in life and became successful and wealthy people, but the fate of their parents was tragic.
Our hero’s mother died when he was still a child. A few years later, my father remarried. The stepmother, contrary to stereotypes, turned out to be a kind and caring woman. Three more children were born in the new family, but Anthony and Calvin never felt left out – there was enough parental love for everyone. But in 2005, the father and stepmother of the young actor became victims of the terrible hurricane Katrina, which practically destroyed New Orleans and claimed the lives of almost 2,000 people.
In 2002, Maki starred in the musical drama 8 Mile, starring rapper Eminem. The picture was a huge success, was awarded an Oscar for the best song and was a great start in the career of an aspiring actor. Tempting offers fell on Anthony like a cornucopia, and over the next two years, his filmography was replenished with seven feature films. Among them are the action movie Hollywood Cops (2003) starring Harrison Ford and the sports drama Million Dollar Baby (2004), which received four Oscars.
